Extra Time in the Studio
A non-instructional Adult Studio Session
for Current Students at Savannah's Clay Spot
Want more time in the studio? Open studio is an option for those who are currently in a class at Savannah's Clay Spot or have taken a class at our facility, (within the last six months), gained experience in our studio and want time to focus on their individual projects. Individuals can pick and choose from 4 hour time slots in a variety of days and times that will fit into any busy schedule. Participants must pre-register and pay for their sessions prior to coming to the studio.
Space is limited and we want to make every effort to ensure sure everyone has enough space to work and each potter has a potter's wheel to work on. The Open Studio session fee provides access to the studio's facility and studio's tools. It is advised that participants bring their own favorite tools. Clay must be purchased from Savannah's Clay Spot to be used in the studio. The Spot has a variety of different clay bodies to choose from to satisfy each artist. A small fee is included in the price of the clay which covers all firings and glaze made in open studio. No outside clay is permitted in the studio unless prior arrangements have been made. Why? Because the clay provided is of high quality and has been tested to fit our studio glazes. Using our clay will provide a dependable outcome making everyone happy.
Any work that exceeds the dimensions of 8" tall or 14" wide is considered "Oversize" an additional firing fee must be paid before firing.
Any project created or worked on outside of an Open Studio Session and brought in requesting firing will be changed a separate firing fee according to size dimensions. Please pay before placing on Firing Shelf.

- Cost- $20 per 4 hour open studio session
- Monday-Friday: 12:30pm- 4:30pm September-May & 1:15pm-5:15pm from June-August
- Saturdays- 10am-2pm
