Create sculpture (functional and non-functional) by learning hand-building, surface and glazing techniques with Derek. You will explore the vessel as a ceramic object within a contemporary art context. Students will be encouraged to test the boundaries of the concept of a vessel by creating multiple ceramic artifacts that focus on- form and balance- color and texture- light and negative space.
Derek is a local ceramic artist and sculptor with an MFA from SCAD. His work can be enjoyed around Savannah and at www.dereklarsonceramics.com
